Non sure where you'd find the plans for that tabular array but it wouldn't be hard to develop plans based on the photos and some dimensions. I designed a dissimilar arrangement to support the top on the table I designed due to the weight of the top.

Hither's a starting time on the 42-in.-wide version. Converting to the larger 1 is trivial as is irresolute the height.

Hopefully Nib Clemmons will post a flick of the one he designed. It is non stand-lonely simply built into his workshop cabinets. It folds completely out of the style so the chiffonier top is usable when information technology is folded up.

This is the drafting table Ken is referring to. The first moving-picture show is folded down to use. The second is folded up and out of the way.

Are you building the drafting table every bit a piece of piece of furniture considering yous similar the style, or practice you plan on really using it to practise drafting. If the latter, I would suggest learning SketchUp. Information technology's free and like shooting fish in a barrel to use once you get the hang of information technology. Likewise takes up a lot less room in the store/home. I hardly ever employ my drafting table any more.

This looks good but I am really looking for a freestanding slice of article of furniture as information technology is a puzzle table for my wife and when not in use a falt table.

Looks proficient, did you build this one or these are your plans? I figured I would need to adjust the size to fit my needs to 34 wide past thirty deep by 30 alpine

That paradigm is from a model I did for plans for a client who is edifice it for his wife. She wants to employ it as a drafting table. ;)

This is what the whole matter looks similar.

The table you showed can easily exist modified to the size you lot're afterward.

Where did you find the picture show of your table example and what are its dimensions as advertised? Interesting, a table for jig saw puzzles? Where do the one-hundred-and one other pieces become while it'southward in progress? The side table surface in Dave's design could be handy for that.

I was just browsing your site and saw this i. I similar it (minus the drawers).

Thanks. The original design for the table includes 2 sets of legs. Tall for stool or standing height and brusk for desk-bound height. The drawer and bookcases are hung from the top to facilitate converting the tabular array if desired. This also gives a sort of floating expect to the cases. And of class they could be omitted if they aren't wanted.

What'southward going to keep the puzzle pieces from just sliding off when the top is tilted? Just curious as I've not heard of anyone using a drafting tabular array for puzzles.

  • #14

I'thou sure Kevin has an answer simply I await you could use some of that non-skid shelf liner foam to build the puzzles on.

Where did you find the moving picture of your table example and what are its dimensions equally advertised? Interesting, a table for jig saw puzzles? Where practice the one-hundred-and 1 other pieces go while information technology'south in progress? The side table surface in Dave's pattern could be handy for that.

My plan was to apply the drawer as a working surface. She is using a card tabular array now with no extra space and puts the pieces in the box and sits it on the tabular array where she is working so I don't see that equally an consequence. I have seen the table with a flat side table side by side to the tilt only not sure I want the table that wide only information technology is an option. At one fourth dimension I was looking at calculation a drop-downward leaf on the side to raise when needed.
Originally I was going to accept it like a folding table so I can move it to the cupboard when not in use but that is becoming also difficult so I inverse my focus to make it more like furniture so it can be used as a regular table when apartment.

Originally I was going to have information technology like a folding table then I tin movement it to the closet when non in use but that is condign too difficult then I changed my focus to make information technology more like furniture so it tin can be used every bit a regular tabular array when flat.

How about making it a fleck like a game table with a removable pinnacle and a sub-superlative that is slightly recessed for the puzzle pieces? No need for any hinging or back up hardware. Or, you could brand the peak in 2 pieces and hinge them on the ends so they tin can fold over and hang down on the sides during puzzle time.

Kevin, it must take been something I ate concluding night only I woke up thinking about your table. :D Anyhow, I sketched out some other idea. The center hinge up section would residuum underneath the top so there'd be clearance for the puzzle. You lot could nonetheless take a drawer to concord the unused pieces and there's horizontal surfaces for drinks and snacks. Gotta take snack when puzzling. ;)
